Healthy People 2010 provides national health goals which include the importance of increasing physical activity levels, improving overall wellness, improving nutrition, and managing stress. This course follows the Fitness for Life program and will help the students meet these national goals. Fitness for Life is based on four characteristics which provide the foundation of this course. These four characteristics include: Health, Everyone, Lifetime, and Personal. This course requires students to complete five (5) hours of activity each week for a total of thirty-five (35) hours. These activities must be proctored by a non-relative. Students will need a pedometer and an elastic resistance band.
